Gaiety Marks Children’s Day Celebration

Gaiety marked the celebration of Children’s Day, the birth anniversary of the beloved Chacha of Children, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of free India, at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar. The celebration commemorates Pt. Nehru’s affection for children and his belief that children were the future of the country. If they were nurtured properly and educated well, the country’s future would be bright.
To make the day very special for the children, the morning assembly was conducted by the teachers. The teachers sang inspiring songs for the students. Mrs.Sonali and Mrs.Rashmi informed the students about the relevance and importance of the day. The students were encouraged to follow the ideals of Pt. Nehru through a poem recited by Mrs.Vandana ‘Be Yourself and ‘Stand for your belief’s was a message made clear by Ms.Resham Sharma, who inspired the students through a song to nurture goodness in themselves and progress in life. The main attraction was a Nukkad Natak ‘Kartavya Ko Pehchano’ , presented by the teachers under the supervision of Ms. Shama Sharma, Supervisor Co – Curricular activities. Seeing the declining values and ethics among the younger generation, the teachers chose a very effective medium of Nukkad Natak to make their message loud and clear. They touched the sensitive issue of not respecting the elders and rising intolerance for the elderly in the family. The popularity of brands and the competition of consumer products among children was also showcased in a very effective way. The message of blending ones rights with the duties in an effective way for a rightful living was the aim of the presentation. Mrs.Nisha Tuteja asked the little ones to be fearless and be the beacons of light for others to follow. The annual Hindi Magazine of the school, ‘Tinke’, was also released on this occasion.
Regional Director, Amritsar Zone, Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road, Amritsar and the Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College , Hathi Gate , Amritsar sent their blessings for the students on this occasion. They added that it was the duty of every citizen of India to realise the dream of the Pt.Jawahar Lal Nehru. They advised students to work hard and give their best in their chosen field to make the country proud.
Dr.Neera Sharma, Principal of the school congratulated the students on their day. She added that the day was special but it also brought responsibilities with it. Students must imbibe values of sacrifice, brotherhood, tolerance and move ahead to make the country shine on the global front. She asked the students to be responsible today for becoming responsible adults of tomorrow.
