An All India Contest was organised by Indian Centre for Plastics in the Environment ( an
autonomous body registered under the societies act) . This contest was to encourage children
to think about their environment, their roles and responsibilities in protecting it. Students
were invited to offer their perceptions and suggestions in the form of essay, posters , ppts etc.
Diya Sood ( Std – X ) of DAV Public School , Lawrence Road , Amritsar, bagged the First
Prize in North Zone Level, Senior Category. She prepared a power point presentation on
management of plastics in the environment, which was highly appreciated by the judges. She
was awarded a trophy, certificate and a Samsung Galaxy Tab at a function held at Indian
International Centre, Delhi. Her mentor Mrs.Renu Sharma also received a certificate of
appreciation for guiding and mentoring her.
