DAV. Public School hosts DAV National Sports Cluster Level Tournament
Under the magnanimous leadership of Arya Ratan Shri Punam Suri ji President DAV , CMC , New Delhi
and able guidance of Dr. J.P. Shoor ji , Director PS – I and aided schools DAV .National Sports Cluster
Level Tournament was organised at DAV .Public School , Lawrence Road, Amritsar 130 students from 10
schools participated in this magnificient event. The team that competed in various events were
DAV.Public School , Lawrence Road, Amritsar , Jagan Nath Jain DAV Public School , Muktsar Satyawati
Goyal DAV. Primary School Batala , Dr. DRB DAV Centenary Public School, Batala ,
DAV. International School Verka By pass , Amritsar , Police DAV Public School, Police Lines , Amritsar ,
MKD. DAV Public School , Nestha Attari , Smt. Dhan Devi Senior Secondary Public School , Gurdaspur ,
Jiya Lal Mittal DAV.Public School , Gurdaspur and Edward Ganj Public School , Malout . The various
events hosted were Badminton, Football , Table Tennis and Chess.
The event commenced with the DAV. Gaan and unfurling of the Flag. This was followed by the Oath
Taking Ceremony. Every player seemed proficient in their respective sports and the ardor of the players was
inspiring.
DAV Public School , Lawrence Road, Amritsar displaying their prowess bagged the first position in the
football match followed by MKD. DAV.Public School , Neshta Attari.
In Badminton also the girls team of DAV Public School , Lawrence Road, Amritsar Stood first followed by
EDWARD GANJ DAV Public School, Mallot. For boys the first position was won by DAV International
School Verka Bypass , Amritsar and DAV Public School , Lawrence Road, Amritsar finished at a close
second.
The team of DAV Public School ,Lawrence Road, Amritsar displayed their expertise by winning the first
position in table tennis followed by DAV International School , Verka Bye Pass, Amritsar in both the boys
and girls category.
The team of Jagan Nath Jain DAV Public School , Giddarbaha bagged the first position in chess in both
boys and girls category. The second position went to DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar in the
category of boys and DAV. International School Verka Bypass , Amritsar in the category of girls .
Regional Officer Punjab Zone (A) Dr.Neelam Kamra extolled the performance of the players and impelled
them to exhibit their sportsmanship in all sphere of life.
The Manager of the school , Dr.Pushpinder Walia lauded the hard work of the players and appreciated the
efforts of the school .
Dr.Anjana Gupta , Cluster Head and Principal DAV International School sent her best wishes and
complimented the relentless efforts of the players.
The Principal of the school , Dr.Pallavi Sethi acknowledged the interminable efforts of the players and
expressed her gratitude to all the distinguished guests. She asserted that games and sports are an integral
part for the holistic development of a child .
