Annual function of Std 3 and UKG
With the blessings of Arya Ratan,Padma Shree Dr.Punam Suri ,President DAV CMC New Delhi and under
the able guidance of Dr J.P. Shoor Director Public and Aided schools DAV CMC New Delhi ,Dr Neelam
Kamra Regional Officer Punjab Zone -A and Dr Pushpinder Walia ,Manager of the school and Principal
BBK DAV College for Women , 600 students of UKG and Std 3 of DAV Public School , Lawrence Road,
Amritsar presented their Annual Function 'Dharohar' on 26th February 2023 with great zeal and enthusiasm.
The students after diligent practice showcased their talent with full confidence and fervor.
The programme had a spectacular display of performances by the students which left the audience
enlightened as the show culminated .The theme centered around the significance of five elements – Space,
Air, Fire, Water and Earth and was presented in a medley of dance, drama and poetry.
The performances delivered a strong message to the audience that we need to preserve all these five
elements to maintain an equilibrium and be a harbinger of different seasons.
The students also sensitized the audience through a role play which underlined the need to nurture and
preserve Nature.
The program was presented in 2 shows, morning and evening. Mr. Jugraj Singh Randhawa ,DEO,
Secondary Education, Amritsar was the chief guest in the morning show and Prof. Laxmi Kanta Chawla,
President Durgiana Prabandhak Committee and Former Cabinet Minister of Punjab Govt. was the chief
guest in the evening show.
The chief guest Mr. Jugraj Singh Randhawa ji appreciated the performance of the children and said that the
major problems in the world are the result of the difference between how nature works and the way people
think. He shared his anecdotes, how DAV imbibes values in its students to be become responsible citizens
and good human beings .
The Presiding guest for the function Dr. J.P. Shoor Director of Public and Aided schools DAV CMC, New
Delhi had all the praise for the school. He sensitized the parents with the theme Dharohar and said that their
children are the real dharohar and a strong back bone of their future as well as for Nation building . He said
DAV Institutions aim at making every student an Arya (Shreshth) and imbibe the values imparted to them .
He stressed on parents giving quality time to their children , their real assets .
The chief guest Prof. Laxmi Kanta Chawla ji urged the parents to keep their children rooted with our Nation
and give them knowledge about the legends who sacrificed their lives for this Nation. She stressed “Nurture
your children as trees deeply rooted and not as pot plants which are simply ornamental”.
The Guest of Honour for the evening show Shri Sudarshan Kapoor, senior LMC member and chairman of
various schools and colleges appreciated the school’s endeavors to instill values in the present generation
and keep the values enriched in the young generation.
