The biggest issue confronting the once prosperous state of Punjab is unemployment and
drugs. The menace of drugs has become an epidemic. Recognising the gravity of the
situation, the Principal of the school , Dr. Neera Sharma organised a short play sponsored
by Directorate of Social security – Women & Child Development , Punjab under the
guidance of Mr. Sunil Kapoor who is very eagerly involved in enlightening the youth of
Punjab to stay away from this menace. The event was organised under the auspices of
HANDS ( Human and Environment Development Society) , under the supervision of Mrs.
Paramjit Kaur Kapoor who is the Chairperson of the society. The play portrayed the
honest suffering of the whole family whose young child gets entangled in the menace of
drugs. The heart – touching performance of the actors laid bare the helplessness of such
parents and other family members whose children fall prey to this habit. The message
given was loud and clear that say ‘No to Drugs’ even on the first attempt otherwise the
whole family falls prey to it directly or indirectly.
